Tap repairs & replacements
Tap repairs & replacements
Dripping, stiff or failed taps repaired where sensible and replaced where not — with isolation valves fitted so the next job is easier.
How it works
What happens when you book us.
Taps fail in predictable ways: worn washers and O-rings on traditional taps, tired ceramic cartridges on modern ones, seized heads on taps that haven't been used. We carry the common parts, so most repairs are completed on the first visit. Where a tap isn't worth repairing, we'll say so plainly and fit the replacement of your choice.
Diagnose
Drip, stiff operation, low flow or movement at the base — we identify whether the fault is washers, cartridge, valve seat or the tap body.
Repair where sensible
If the tap justifies a repair, we do it in the same visit with quality parts.
Replace where not
Replacement taps fitted with new flexible connectors and isolation valves, so future changes don't require draining down.
Test
Full flow, no drips and smooth operation, checked before we leave.
Common questions
Asked about tap repairs & replacements.
Repair or replace?
A decent tap under about ten years old is usually worth repairing. Corroded, obsolete or low-quality taps are usually better replaced. We'll give you a straight recommendation either way.
Can you fit a tap I've already bought?
Yes — most of the taps we fit are customer-supplied. If you send a photo or link before buying, we'll confirm it suits your water pressure.
My kitchen mixer has worked loose — does it matter?
Yes: movement gradually loosens the connections underneath and eventually causes a leak inside the cupboard. Re-fixing it is quick and inexpensive.
