Showers & mixers
Temperature swings, weak flow and drips diagnosed and repaired — and new mixer, thermostatic or electric showers fitted to suit your water system.
How it works
What happens when you book us.
Shower faults usually come down to one of three things: a worn cartridge, an inadequate supply, or a unit at the end of its life. The right fix depends on your water system — combi, tank-fed or unvented — so that's always our first question. We repair where the shower justifies it and install mixer, thermostatic bar and electric showers where it doesn't.
Check the system
Combi, tank-fed or unvented determines which showers will perform well in your home. We confirm this before recommending anything.
Diagnose
Cartridge, check valves, scaled head or supply problem — identified and priced before work starts.
Repair or replace
Cartridges and serviceable parts replaced where sensible; a new unit fitted and sealed where not.
Set and test
Thermostatic showers set to a safe maximum temperature, flow checked, sealant finished properly.
Common questions
Asked about showers & mixers.
The shower goes cold when someone runs a tap — can that be fixed?
Usually. A thermostatic valve compensates for pressure changes automatically, and on combi systems flow balancing often helps. We'll confirm which applies to your setup.
Electric or mixer shower — which is better?
Mixer, if your hot water supply is strong: better flow and cheaper to run. Electric, if you want independence from the boiler or the hot supply is weak. It depends on your system, and we'll advise honestly.
Why has the flow gone weak?
Often just a scaled shower head or blocked inlet filter. If the whole bathroom is affected, it's a supply or pressure issue worth diagnosing before buying anything new.
